Raiply Malawi Limited, a subsidiary of SARRAI GROUP Headquarters Based in Kampala, Uganda.
Raiply Malawi Limited is one of the largest and most respected wood processing companies in Malawi. Born from the Government’s privatization program, Raiply took over operations in 1999, initially managing 20,000 hectares of forest plantations, of which only 13,000 hectares were stocked. Today, the company stands as a model of sustainable industrial growth, employing over 3000 people and contributing significantly to the national economy.
Raiply has grown from a modest timber producer into a diversified manufacturer with seven specialized factory units. Its product range includes high-quality plywood, shutter ply, Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), laminated boards, cornices, doors, furniture and interiors, as well as creosote-treated transmission poles — all widely accepted in both local and international markets.

Afforestation & Sustainable Forest Management
Raiply Malawi is at the forefront of environmental conservation, having replanted over 15,000 hectares of forest since its inception, including the rehabilitation of degraded areas such as Chigumula Forest (620 hectares) in Blantyre and 628 hectares in Zomba. The company operates two high-capacity nurseries in Chauteka and Champhoyo, producing 1.8 million pine and eucalyptus seedlings annually—enough to cover more than 1,500 hectares. This aggressive replanting strategy ensures a sustainable timber supply while restoring Malawi’s forest cover.
The Viphya Plantation, under Raiply’s management, is a model of sustainable forestry, combining commercial timber production with ecological preservation. The company follows a strict harvest-and-replant cycle, maintaining biodiversity and soil health while supplying high-quality pine and blue gum for its factories. To diversify its raw material base, Raiply collaborates with out-growers for hardwood, further supporting local farmers and reducing deforestation pressure.
